The ATO has recently updated its document "When you have inome from two payers" as a reminder that with the change of the threshold from $6,000 to $18,000, people with two employers are entitled to claim the tax-free threshold for more than one payer at the same time.
The ATO has, however, also made it clear that taxpayer must be sure that their income for the year isn't more than $18,200.
Employees with more than one employer will still need to provide a new withholding declaration to one of their employers if their income is expected to go over the new threshold.
